For many years, Axminster has produced a standard carbon steel bandsaw blade and it’s been the ‘blade of choice’ for many users, especially so when upgrading from the original (which may often be of inferior quality) supplied with their machine.
‘Standard blades’ are best described as general purpose and are fit for all those normal tasks in the workshop where a smooth, good quality, ‘no fuss’ performance is required, day in and day out.
Axcaliber Standard Blades are economical to purchase, being available in a huge array of lengths, blade widths and tooth configurations. As well as Axminster bandsaws, they’re suitable for virtually all machines from different manufactures currently available or even some of those that are no longer in production.
Key Features
Manufactured at Axminster using advanced CNC machining

A blade which consistently cuts straighter, has harder, longer-life teeth
Gives a superior finish to the work
One of the few companies worldwide able to offer a fully guaranteed weld
The weld is annealed to remove any brittleness and danger of fatigue

Good fine bandsaw bladeThis bandsaw blade is very fine and thin so that it can be used for fine detail cutting. Very useful blade to have.

What blade is required to cut curves and a radius on the basic bandsaws with a 1400mm blade length. You only seem to supply high carbon blades for the small hobby machine with the smallest blade being a 1/4" again is that suitable for curves?
Asked by: Spaniel.
Hello,
I can confirm that the 1/4" blade is the smallest width we list in 1400mm. This 1/4" blade will cut a minimum radius of 1/4".

Is this blade suitable for making internal boxes? what is the tightest radius it can cut?
Asked by: LesJ
The blade is excellent for ripping down lengths of wood, not really designed for cutting a radius.
The blade has demonstrated great durability and the set has enabled a surprisingly good straight cut off the fence- take it slow though.
The needs care when you “unwrap” it, and when setting it on the bandsaw, it’s sharp!
Hugely recommend this blade

The 12.7mm blade is listed on your site as compatible with the Workzone 350W saw but the saw manual lists 12mm as max width, will the extra .7mm matter?
Asked by: The Tread
I have not tried this size blade but I cannot see that the additional ,0.7 mm will have any affect

What do you recommend in the 1400mm blade length for cutting curves pls
Asked by: Stevewak
Hi,
If you wish to cut curves then you would need a very narrow blade,in other words one that is the shortest from the teeth to the back of the blade. 19mm would be much too wide.

Would these blades cut metal at all.
Asked by: Tug
Hello
These blades are not made from a hard enough steel to cut metal.
We do stock metal cutting bandsaw blades and we are able to make bespoke sizes if you cannot find the size you need online - Please call into our call centre on 0800 371 822 or visit one of our stores for prices for these bespoke blades.
