The AW1950B is a compact bandsaw with many features not normally found on machines of this size.
It gives you a 135mm maximum depth of cut. It has a strong welded and braced steel frame along with a generously sized cast iron table with a steel plate rear extension. The widely spaced mounting trunnions underneath the table give extra table support and ensure that the table tilt is a smooth operation. A standard 19mm mitre fence slot is provided. The rip fence cam-locks solidly to the front rail and is adjustable to the blade for accuracy. Twin scales allow the fence to be used on either side of the blade.
The bandsaw has ball bearing side and thrust guides; these give great support and are very easy to set up. Once set, they stay set unless you change the width of the blade. A rack and pinion system adjusts the upper blade guide height.
The dust extraction is via two ports, one close to the bottom guides, the other in the lower wheel cabinet. An interconnecting hose means just one 63mm connection port needs coupling to a suitable vacuum extractor. There are twin blade speeds, giving flexibility for many jobs. A powerful induction motor with a multi V belt drives the bandsaw and is quiet and reliable.
Supplied with a steel leg stand with rubber feet and a UK made blade (10mm x 6 TPI Skip Tooth). This could be the perfect bandsaw for most "shed-in-the-garden-garage-workshops".
