This Whetstone Flattening Stone is designed exclusively for flattening wet sharpening stones and is essential for keeping your medium and finishing whetstones in peak condition. With regular sharpening, whetstones can lose their smooth surface as metal particles accumulate and the stone gradually wears unevenly. When used with water, this flattening stone quickly restores a clean, flat and refined surface, helping your sharpening stones deliver precise and consistent results.
The 280 grit surface offers efficient yet slightly finer resurfacing than a coarse flattening stone, making it well suited for maintaining medium and finishing stones. By wetting both stones and using steady, back‑and‑forth strokes, you can easily return your whetstone to its original smooth, true surface. The stone is durable, comfortable to handle and built for regular maintenance work.
It measures 206 × 53 × 27 mm and weighs approximately 550 g. Due to the manufacturing and finishing process, slight variations in size may occur.
