Forged in Austria, these Forstner bits produce smooth, splinter-free holes in hardwoods and softwoods. These bits will give you tear-free, accurate, flat bottomed, blind and even overlapping holes with perfectly smooth sides every time. They drill faster and require less effort that any comparable bit. The shanks of the bits have three flats for a secure grip in a drill chuck. They work 10 times faster than conventional forstner bits in hardwood. Forged from one piece of high quality tool steel for extra strength, the reason behind the increased performance is the FISCH Wave Cutter technology. This unique design significantly reduces friction at the cutting rim with excellent chip removal.
Black Shark Wave forstners differ from the standard wave cutters with a shorter centre point and the wave edge is more aggressive and similar to a saw tooth forstner, it is modelled on a Sharkskin. The design ensures fast, smooth cutting with considerably less friction and resistance as well as less heat generated even when drilling at high speeds. Fast cutting ensures will not only save time, but will save battery life when it comes to cordless drilling. Ideally suited to hardwoods.
The shank is coated so that it is corrosion resistant, whilst the periphery cutting edge is polished.
