Just one layer of Rubio Monocoat’s flagship protection oil will give you durable colour and protection, leaving a professional finish to your project. And, with a wide range of natural shades and vibrant colours to choose from, you can enhance and protect your work without compromise.

Molecular technology

Rubio Monocoat uses state of the art technology to produce a protection range that is not only durable, but is also versatile and economical. Due to its advanced molecular bonding technology, Rubio Monocoat protection oil provides durable colour and wood protection from one single coat.

Within a couple of minutes of application, the oil adheres to the upper microns in the wood by strong molecular bonding which provides solid protection while also retaining the natural look of the wood.

Once the fibres are bonded with the oil, the wood will not absorb the surplus meaning a second coat is unnecessary. This makes Rubio Monocoat an economical choice of finish that is also easy to maintain while saving you time and money.

This revolutionary molecular bonding technology also means that Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is VOC free. Therefore, no harmful vapours are released and hazardous factors are eliminated, while maintaining quality application and protection. Good for you, good for the environment and good for your wood!

A versatile interior oil finish

Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is an incredibly versatile wood oil. An excellent choice for home workshop hobby woodworkers, to crafters, small business users and even for trade. It is suitable for many interior applications including floors, furniture, stairs as well as small craft items. Not only that, Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has food safe credentials. This means it is suited to kitchen worktops and other surfaces that come into contact with food. Use to finish chopping boards, kitchen tables, fruit bowls and more.

It also also meets European toy safety standards.

Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is best applied using pads. Note Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is a linseed based oil. Therefore any rags or application products should be soaked in water and disposed of correctly to avoid spontaneous combustion. If using other materials for application then these can be cleaned using white spirit.

Larger tin sizes (350ml and 1.3L) come with a 'Part B' accelerator, which helps to speed up the curing time. Smaller sizes (20ml and 100ml) can also be used with the accelerator and can be purchased separately or can be used without, but it will extend the curing time. The oil will take three weeks to fully cure without the accelerator but is reduced to one week when the accelerator is used.
