Winning At The DIY Week Awards 2018
Axminster Tools & Machinery recently won an award at the DIY Week Awards ceremony in London.
Representatives from across the DIY, home improvement and garden markets gathered at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel on Friday 11 May. There, the aim was to recognise excellence across the industry. Thus, the award categories encompassed forward-thinking companies, innovative products and inspirational people.
The luncheon began with a drinks reception, providing an opportunity for guests to network with industry friends and potential clients. Then, comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke launched the event and got the awards presentation underway.
DIY Week Awards Team of the Year
Winning a trophy at the prestigious DIY Week Awards is without doubt an achievement. And, this year our Cardiff store had cause for celebration after bagging the Team of the Year Award.
Store manager Lee Parfitt and his deputy Katie Reid represented Cardiff at the event, along with sales director Darran McLeod and retail manager Berni Callery. Pictured left to right: Paul Bagnall of Henkel (sponsor), Berni Callery, Darran McLeod, Katie Reid, Lee Parfitt, Marcus Brigstocke
Cardiff's written entry focused on many of the initiatives the store has put in place. These include working with groups within the local community such as the Scouts, SPICE and Amelia’s Trust.
The Rainy Day Trust
The luncheon not only served as an opportunity to recognise excellence and innovation across the industry, but also presented a chance to give something back. The organisers arranged a collection on behalf of The Rainy Day Trust. As a result, guests helped raise funds for the UK’s only charity supporting the home improvement workforce and their families. The total amount raised will be announced on the DIY Week Awards website shortly.
