The Tormek Scholarship Award 2021 is now open for applications. The award started in 2013 and is presented annually to a final year student attending a furniture/cabinet design and make woodworking course.

Previous winners include Rachel Elston. "JOVE”, Rachel’s winning piece was inspired by Scandinavian design and small space living. “The simplicity and functionality of Scandinavian designs always catch my eye. I particularly like the warm natural tones that come with the designs from that area”. The entry table showcased a transition between our homes and the world outside. Rachel strongly believes that sharp tools are essential to the creation of beautifully cut joinery, allowing you to produce crisp and accurate cuts, saving time and improving the quality of work.

The prize

As in previous years, this year's winner will be awarded with a complete Tormek Sharpening System, including accessories - a good foundation for future projects and lifelong sharp tools!

How to enter

Simply submit images of your piece of work together with your reasons for wanting to own a Tormek machine. You must be the maker of the piece and have used a Tormek during the making process. Tormek will publish the results on their website and include a short interview with the winner.
