Elm sculpted chair
Sculpted chair from three inch thick slabs of elm. The contours were designed to support the lower back and relieve pressure on the spine - the more distal parts were shaped as the figure of the wood suggested.

Hippos - Carved from a block of lime.  Painted with Earthborn wood stains and finished with Rustins quick drying satin varnish (All EU toy safe products). Elephants - Carved from a donated slab of wood (species unknown)  12" x 7.5".  Finished with one coat of sanding sealer and Liberon Black Bison neutral wax polish.

Kioni, a hooded Masai woman. The head was carved of English Walnut, the hood/cloak of Sycamore and the jewellery pieces of African black wood, ebony wood, boxwood and purple heart wood.
