Axminster Microcrystalline Restoration Wax - our most versatile wax
Microcrystalline waxes will not only preserve, protect and enhance your woodwork, they can also be used for delicate artefacts due to their pH neutral and acid-free qualities. This versatile wax helps protect against fingerprints and is perfect for objects that are handled frequently. The wax stays clear and forms a hard layer when applied that, once buffed, gives a gentle sheen and repels moisture on furniture. Its properties also help prevent oxidation of metal surfaces.
Axminster Machine Wax - less friction, greater control
Our Axminster Machine Wax’s unique anti-friction formulation gives you greater control and enables you to push your workpiece through the machine with ease. The wax also helps to protect your machine against corrosion at the same time! This silicone free formula wax is also suitable for lubricating saw blades and cutting tools, and can be used on handsaw blades and soles of hand planes. This carefully formulated blend of waxes is suitable for use on bare, sealed, dyed or previously polished wood. Axminster Workshop Paste Wax is available in clear and a range of timber shades. The timber shades are good for adjusting the finished colour of previously dyed wood. On bare wood, the coloured wax produces an immediate change and enhances natural grain patterns. Once dry and buffed it forms an attractive and durable wax sheen.
For the best results, apply sparingly using 0000 steel wool or a fine non-woven abrasive pad. Allow it to dry and then buff with a polishing brush, followed by a soft clean cloth. Apply a second coat to give a greater depth to the finish.
