The Axminster Woodturning Speed Sizer, developed in conjunction with the ‘Blind Woodturner’, Chris Fisher, offers woodturners a simple, but accurate solution for marking dovetail jaws on to blanks, giving top marks all-round.
Revolutionary marking system
The Speed Sizer revolutionises marking jaw sizes onto a turning blank, making it safe, accurate and quick!.
Simple design
This 135mm aluminium template features internal and external marking points for ten different sizes of dovetail jaws from the Axminster Woodturning range. It features a centre hole into which you can place an awl or your lathe’s tailstock centre. Then simply use a pencil or marker in the hole corresponding to your chosen jaw and draw a circle.
Precision every time
With no chance of caliper points catching, or misaligned measurements, the Axminster Woodturning Speed Sizer offers accurate marking every time.
Designed for Axminster Woodturning Chuck Jaws
The Speed Sizer has been designed to use alongside Axminster Woodturning Chuck Jaws A, A+, B, BF, C, D, F, G, H and M. The Speed Sizer also features an additional row of holes at 10mm intervals for marking circles up to 100mm diameter.
Product development
The Axminster Woodturning Speed Sizer was invented by Chris Fisher known on Youtube as ‘The Blind Woodturner’. He had developed a wooden disc with a series of 10mm holes he used to mark tenons and mortises. He approached Axminster Tools with the design and our professional woodturner, Colwin Way, loved the idea. Together they developed an aluminium version with additional holes to compliment the jaws available in the Axminster range.
Based on an original idea shown to us by Chris Fisher 'The Blind Woodturner', the Speed Sizer revolutionises the job of marking jaw sizes onto a turning blank. This 135mm aluminium template makes marking out for a dovetail jaw completely safe, totally accurate, easier and quicker.
