When grinding and sharpening, it is desirable to have nice sturdy, easy to adjust tool rests to support the tool being ground. Some grinders are a bit lacking in this respect and having a fully adjustable heavy duty tool rest can make tool grinding and sharpening a pleasure. The sturdy rest from Woodcut Tools meets these requirements and is a very useful addition to the Tru-Grind system.
Designed with a 110mm wide platform to ensure stability while sharpening, especially Scraper tools. Reference marks on the platform and arm help to assist you to simply repeat the sharpening set up. Whilst the Strudy Rest arm is securely supported in position for safe sharpening. For an even quicker and simpler setup, the assembly simply inserts into the front of the Tru-Grind Base Slide.
Conveniently the Sturdy Rest also pivots down out of the way when not required, allowing you to use the jig for your gouges and other turning tools. Designed to fit on the left hand side of your grinder, you will wonder how you managed without it.
