The Mafell Z5Ec portable bandsaw is a unique carpentry tool. A carpenter traditionally being someone skilled in shaping and assembling structural woodwork. The Z5Ec portable bandsaw enables you to cut joints or profiles in solid wood or laminated beams up to 305mm deep. Working with large construction timber for framing or roofing is made a whole lot easier with the Z5Ec.

The saw has a high-output motor providing all the necessary power. Much of the frame and components are magnesium alloy, adding strength and at the same time reducing weight.

The exhaust air from the motor is directed onto the blade blowing dust away from the cut line, leaving you with a clear view of the mark.

The saw takes blades 6mm or 8mm wide, for straight or curved cuts, the bandsaw is capable of cutting radii as tight as 10mm. For curve cutting the back-toothed blade has teeth on the rear edge helping clear the cut and cut a much tighter radius than a regular blade. Ball bearing guides keep the blade on track. A lever enables you to angle the guides by 30°, allowing cuts to be made up to 90mm deep without the opposing support strut touching the work.

A spring-mounted and tensioned idler wheel makes blade changing quick and easy. The machine is fitted with an NVR switch and mechanical brake. This portable bandsaw can be converted for two person operation, for cutting compound mitres and angled birdsmouth joins.
