The Easy Wood Tools Mid‑Size Easy Detailer™ is a carbide woodturning tool designed for creating small coves, beads, and fine decorative details when turning bowls, platters, boxes, spindles, and other projects.
With increased reach compared to the Easy Start range, it is a versatile go‑to detailing tool for turners working on larger workpieces while still requiring precise, controlled cuts.
Featuring a replaceable diamond‑shaped carbide cutter and a 9.5mm square section bar that sits flat on the tool rest, the Mid‑Size Easy Detailer™ delivers excellent stability and easy control with no sharpening required.
The longer handle provides improved leverage and balance, making it well suited to bowl and faceplate work, while remaining intuitive and predictable for turners progressing beyond smaller tools.
Designed for controlled, accurate cutting, the Mid‑Size Easy Detailer™ allows you to create fine details cleanly and consistently, even on larger blanks.
The square section bar ensures the tool remains flat and steady on the tool rest, and when used parallel to the floor at centre height, the risk of catches and snatches is virtually eliminated, supporting confident detail work at the lathe.
With no sharpening needed, maintenance is simple - when the edge becomes dull, just loosen the fixing screw and rotate the cutter to a fresh edge.
Easy Wood Tools’ long‑lasting carbide cutters keep an edge many times longer than HSS and are suitable for turning dry or green wood, as well as acrylics.
The shaft is engraved with the corresponding carbide cutter reference number for easy identification.
All Easy Wood Tools are 100% made in the USA.
