This pair of Perform Centres comprises the 1MT Live Centre and the 4 Prong 1MT Drive Centre.

Perform 1MT Live Centre

The Perform 1MT Live Centre has a 30mm diameter head and twin dust proof bearings. The 90° nose tip reduces the risk of splitting small or open grain timbers, or if the tailstock is over tightened.

Perform 4 Prong 1MT Drive Centre

The Perform 4 Prong 1MT Drive Centre is perfect for spindle work. Gripping the timber, they prevent your piece from slipping by biting into the timber for consistent driving. A 4 prong drive also minimises the risk of splitting the grain.

The centre point helps alignment so place this on the centre of your workpiece. Give the end of the drive a sharp tap with a mallet rather than using your lathe’s tailstock to push the drive home. This method removes any unnecessary pressure on your lathe’s bearings.

Both centres are made in Axminster, UK and have CNC level accuracy.
