Wataoka Wood Pro 90mm Extra Fine Flat File is a Japanese-made woodworking file designed for fine shaping, refining and finishing tasks. Featuring an extra fine cut and flat profile, it delivers a positive cutting action whilst producing a smooth surface finish. With a 90mm working length, 200mm overall length and 10mm width, it offers excellent control, making it particularly useful for smaller components, detailed work and areas where precision is important.
The specially designed tooth pattern provides excellent bite whilst helping to minimise clogging during use. Designed to be used with light pressure, the file produces a slower, more controlled rate of material removal than coarser cuts, allowing greater accuracy when refining a workpiece. For best results, use light pressure and maintain contact with the workpiece on the return stroke to help reduce the accumulation of cutting dust on the file. The extra fine No. 8 cut leaves a notably smooth surface, often making it the preferred choice after a No. 5 cut file when a finer finish is required.
This version features a 90mm working length flat file profile with a No. 8 extra fine cut. Suitable materials include wood, bamboo, plaster and synthetic resins. The narrow 10mm width allows access to smaller areas and finer details, whilst the finish achieved is comparable to approximately 280 grit abrasive, making it ideal for final shaping and surface preparation prior to further finishing.
