Axminster 151F Spokeshave Flat Sole

Axminster 151F Spokeshave Flat Sole is a traditional-style woodworking hand tool designed for shaping, smoothing and refining convex curves and chamfers. Its flat sole and compact design make it easy to control, whether removing material or taking fine finishing cuts.

The ductile cast iron body has a tough black enamel finish, with well-rounded handles and thumb rests providing a comfortable, controlled grip. Twin knurled adjusting screws give precise control over both the depth and lateral position of the blade, allowing a particularly fine setting for delicate shaping work.

The 54mm (2⅛) wide O1 high carbon steel blade is oil quenched, hardened and tempered to HRC 63 for excellent edge retention. Measuring 250mm (10) overall and weighing 435g (15oz), the spokeshave is well balanced and manoeuvrable, with the blade requiring only minimal honing before use.
