The Stanley FatMax Pro Autolock Tape (5m/16ft) has a patented and innovative automatic blade-lock mechanism. Unlike other tapes, which you pull out and then lock, the blade of an Autolock tape is held in place as you extend it. This allows for quick and easy measuring even on your own. Pressing the lock button retracts the blade. You can switch off the Autolock feature and use the tape in a normal self-retracting mode.

The mylar coated blade is up to ten times more resistant to abrasion than normal lacquered blades. The first 80mm of the blade has BladeArmor® reinforcement offering extra protection to the most vulnerable part of any tape. The 32mm wide blade has a 3m standout for increased reach. The ABS impact resistant case has a moulded rubberised grip for comfort and a secure hold even in wet conditions.

Stanley's FatMax Autolock Tape also comes with two additional, interchangeable hooks. These simply clip onto the standard hook to make measuring even more versatile and efficient. The XL hook is an oversized hook which allows you to hook the tape side-on to the structure, meaning no need to twist the tape and reducing inaccurate measurements. There is also a magnetic hook for easy one-handed measuring of steelwork and scaffolding. Secure hook storage on the body of the tape measure keeps the interchangeable hooks ready for use.
