By measuring the electronic resistance between its pins, the Bosch UniversalHumid, detects and displays the moisture content of the timber. It could not be simpler, push the pins into the wood and read the displayed value.
The results are shown in two ways, there is a traffic light LED. Green means less than 12%, considered dry, yellow a moisture content of 12 -20%, may require attention and red more than 20% damp. The detector also displays the readings as a percentage in one of two wood groups. Group A: Maple, Birch, Larch, Douglas Fir, Cherry, Spruce and Group B: Ash, Pine, Oak, Walnut, Beech. The accuracy is +/- 1%. The cap used to cover the pins is also used to check the unit’s calibration, ensuring correct measurement at all times. The UniversalHumid automatically saves the last two measured values for comparison. A charge indicator lets you know when it is time to replace the batteries. Use the UniversalHumid to check the moisture content of different types of wood, in order to ensure that the wood is ready to be used. Use for firewood, construction or for mould prevention etc. The unit self switches off after 5 minutes.
