Plunge saws are a relatively modern innovation. Festool introduced the first guide rail in 1962. Following this, in 1980, Festool patented and released the first plunge-cut saw, setting the standard for sharp and precise plunge cutting. Today, we all understand that the finish quality of the cut matters.
