The Sedgwick SM255t is a very robust machine made primarily of cast iron, it’s a strong and reliable machine, made in the UK. A cast iron table and a heavy duty steel cabinet provide maximum timber support. The table features an anti-friction planed finish. Even the fences are cast iron, independently adjustable and precision-ground for long term durability and stability.
The Sm255t’s main feature is the backwards tilting spindle (+5 degrees to -45 degrees). Working from underneath the stock is safer, without restriction on the size of stock being machined, and without obstruction to the pressure guards or power feed. The waste is directed into the extraction outlet in the machine’s base. The SM255t’s has a unique ‘true vertical’ rise and fall This allows for vertical adjustment of the spindle independent of the tilting mechanism.
The spindle rise and fall and tilt mechanisms are operated by a crank handle at the front of the machine. Both positions are read from a digital indicator. Changeover between the four spindle speeds is a quick and easy belt re-positioning.
The SM255t is equipped with a cast aluminium cutter guard and a robust shaw guard set. Twin outlets facilitate dust extraction from both the cutter well and fence locations. Additional safety features include: automatic braking; starter with thermal overload no volt release protection and lock-off emergency stop; lockable isolator; electronically interlocked door; a footstop and a socket for a power feed unit.
Pre-drilling for a power feed can be arranged; for a quotation, please contact us at email sales@axminstertools.com or call 03332 406406.
