Cardiff Store- Beginners Pen Turning Workshop
Join us in-store to see the process of turning a pen on the Axminster Workshop AW205 Lathe.
Through this workshop, we will go through the whole process from start to finish. We will start the day by explaining what's needed to be able to start pen turning, then you'll see the full process of turning a pen and eventually assembling the pen kit. There will be time at the end for any questions you might have.

This fantastic demonstration will cover setup and safe usage of the machine, accessories for different types of work holding, and will go into detail on each tool in the Axminster Woodturning Tool Set (Product code 106153), giving you the knowledge to begin creating your own turned pieces.

Cardiff Store- Bandsaw Box Demonstration
Join us in-store as Dan demonstrates the basic processes behind creating a bandsaw box.
Bandsaw boxes are a great way to use up leftover pieces of timber, and only need a limited number of tools to make a product that can be completely unique in shape and style. Dan will discuss bandsaw blade selection and how to get the best cuts from your bandsaw, and will demonstrate the steps to creating boxes of different styles.
N.B - Due to the glueing process when creating bandsaw boxes, this will be a demonstration of techniques as opposed to a start-to-finish project. Boxes at different stages of completion will be used and discussed throughout the session.

Cardiff Store- King Coronation- UJK MK II Parf System Fit for a King
King Coronation Special event where we will be showcasing our UJK MK II Parf System which is made in Britain and fit for a King.
Come along and see just how accurate the system is to create your perfect workstation in under 30 minutes. This fantastic system produces a precise pattern of 20mm holes and guarantees perfect 45° and 90° cuts, every time. Also come along for a chance to chat with the team and ask any questions you might have if you already own one!
Cardiff Store- Martin Saban-Smith On Tour With Axminster Tools
Join us as tutor and demonstrator, Martin Saban-Smith RPT returns to our stores to share more of his unique woodturning creativity.
Martin's enthusiasm, technical ability and artistic finishing has attracted an impressive following on social media and he promises an entertaining and informative demonstration. His relaxed presentation style has been enjoyed by hundreds of turners in the UK, Ireland, Scotland and the USA.
During the demonstration several projects will be completed with expert advice given on everything from tooling, turning techniques, sanding and finishing. Martin is the manufacturer and owner of the Hampshire Sheen range of finishing waxes, oils, lacquers and the Intrinsic Collection Dyes some of which will be used during his demonstration.
Don’t miss what is certain to be a colourful display of professional techniques by booking your free place now.
Tickets are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. We recommend arriving on time to gain the full benefit of this demonstration, seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Audience questions are encouraged but, due to the expected numbers, participation will not be possible. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided.
Cardiff Store- Richard Findley Woodturning Workshop
Join us in-store where Richard will be with us for the day for a fantastic woodturning workshop.
On the day, Richard will be doing a number of projects on the lathe from turning a small incurving bowl, to creating a box with an alternative ivory insert as well as some spindle work to show the techniques of spindle production turning. This is a great opportunity and not to be missed to see Richard live in our store. As always, there will be time to ask him any questions you might have!
