High Wycombe Store- Turning Thursday - It's Christmas Time....

Join us in-store for (Wood)Turning Thursday!

Held on the first Thursday of each month, these demonstrations will provide an opportunity to learn new skills, explore different projects, techniques and generally 'Talk Turning'. The sessions will run in a series, allowing us to incorporate new elements and skills each week.

For our fourth session, let's make it festive:

During this demonstration we will look at:

- Using the skew to create some Christmas trees.

- Beading techniques to create some snowmen.

High Wycombe Store- Timberkits Creative Christmas

Here's your chance to get hands on, building and decorating your own Timberkits kit.

Join us in store this December and discover Timberkits latest Christmas additions, including Rudulph, Santa, Robin and Snowy!

Timberkits mechanical model making kits feature wooden parts and mechanisms to bring to life charming scenes, vehicles and characters, all crafted from sustainable forestry. With everything you need all in the box, you can watch your models come to life. Be warned, once you've done one, you'll want to build them all!

Interested in learning a new skill... why not join us for our new Carving Club?

Our High Wycombe store will be running monthly sessions over the course of 6 months, covering some of the basics to get you started on your carving journey!

Month 3 - Chip Carving

Chip carving is a style of carving in which knives, or chisels are used to remove small chips of the material from a flat surface, within a single piece. During this session, you will have the chance to create chip carved Christmas tree!

Month 4 - Relief Carving

In woodcarving, relief carving is a type of carving in which figures, or patterns are carved in a flat panel of wood. During this session, you will have the chance to carve a knot work panel.

Month 5 - Spoon Carving

During this session, we will introduce the use of a bandsaw/scrollsaw, allowing you to rough cut the shape of your spoon before carving using a hook knife.

Our High Wycombe store will be running monthly sessions over the course of 6 months, covering some of the basics to get you started on your carving journey!

Month 6 - Carving in the round

During this session, we will re-cap on the use of the a bandsaw/scrollsaw allowing you to rough cut the shape of your carving, before using a variety of carving chisels to define the shape of your 3D project.
