Accuracy and versatility for your turning
Highly versatile, the Axminster Woodturning Pro Drive offers not only safety, but also accurate results.
Excellent grip and drive
Made in Axminster from quality stainless steel, the grip and driving force behind these centres lie in the teeth on the outer rim.
A spring loaded, stainless steel centre point features adjustable tension. The point acts as a centering pin and as pressure is applied from the tailstock, the teeth will dig into your workpiece, driving the piece for turning.
These drive centres are also a safe choice. When the pressure is reduced from the tailstock, and in the event of a dig-in, the work will stop revolving.
An excellent choice for production work, the pro drive allows you to move your workpiece without stopping the lathe. Simply unwind the tailstock. You can also reposition your work ensuring it goes back in the same place.
These centres are safe, secure and offer greater versatility and accuracy than the more common 2 or 4-prong drive centres. Being made entirely of stainless steel they will not rust or corrode when used with green timber or left in an unheated workshop.
The centre features a spring loaded, stainless steel centre point, with a sharp toothed outer ring providing the drive. The Pro Drive is unique in that you can vary the spring tension. There are numerous advantages when using this drive. Repositioning your work is accurate; the work always goes back in the same place. They are safe; reduce the pressure from the tailstock and in the event of a dig-in the work will simply stop revolving. Reducing the tailstock pressure further allows you to stop the work and inspect it without switching off the lathe. In production, the centre allows unloading and reloading by unwinding the tailstock without stopping the lathe. When used for eccentric turning, the centre will still drive even if its full diameter is not in contact with the work. Being made entirely of stainless steel they will not rust or corrode when used with green timber or left in an unheated workshop.
Available in 1MT or 2MT.
N.B. The head diameter measurement is taken from the diameter of the teeth points where initial contact is made.
