These blades produce decorative 3/16" (4.8mm) concave fluting on workpieces. To cut flutes, remove the sliding section (and use the small blade guide knob to support the blade). The fluting blade is offset and will be centred on the body skate.
Made of PM-V11 steel it has a 35° bevel angle. PM-V11 is highly resistant to dulling or damage from wear and impact. These blades can take a keen edge and hold it through extended use. PM-V11 is as easy to sharpen as A2 tool steel using water stones or other common sharpening methods. The lapped back only requires a light honing before use. It can perform right-hand or left-hand cuts, simply by changing the combination plane’s fence from one side to the other.
If you own a Veritas small plough plane or a Record 405 or Stanley 45/55, you may already have a collection of blades that you can use in the Veritas combination plane.
Made in Canada.
