You’ll be bowled over by this bowl coring system from Woodcut. Saving time, mess and wood, this Bowlsaver Coring System works to accurately produce a bowl every time! Perfect for all skill levels, use this nifty tool to create not just one, but up to four bowls, depending on the thickness of the wood, from each wood blank, with minimal waste.
Simple design and easy to use!
The Woodcut Bowlsaver Bowl Coring System’s simple design is easy to use for workers of all abilities. Core a 12’’ x 4’’ blank in less than five minutes!
Lock in and away you go
The Woodcut Bowlsaver is attached to the lathe via the lathe tool post and is also supported by a Morse taper that fits into the tailstock of the lathe (MT2). Once set up, slowly move the bowlsaver arm and watch as the centre of the bowl begins to take shape. Once the required depth is reached, the centre blank can be removed.
Works well with most wood
The Bowlsaver Coring System works well on all timbers as well as seasoned or unseasoned timber. If turned unseasoned, the resulting bowl blanks can be put aside for seasoning and finishing at a later date. N.B. We would recommend a minimum power requirement of 1hp for using this system. You will need to choose the correct diameter tool post to suit your lathe from those listed.
Guides provided for accurate results
The system also comes with two templates to create different bowl sizes, allowing turners to create a nest of bowls from one blank, meaning no wood goes to waste.

If you are hollowing out a large bowl, it is such a shame that all of the material being removed ends up on the workshop floor as shavings. The Woodcut Tools Bowlsaver is attached to the lathe via the lathe tool post and is also supported by a Morse taper that fits into the tailstock of the lathe (MT2). The Bowlsaver uses 2 curved blades to give a combination of cuts that will remove blanks from 75mm (3") up to 300mm (12") from the inside of the outer bowl. The depth that the blades will go into the wood can be adjusted from zero up to 130mm (5"). This, in essence, will remove a bowl 300mm (12") x 130mm (5") from the outer bowl.
Ideal for all skill levels, it works very well on either seasoned or unseasoned timber. If turned unseasoned, the resulting bowl blanks can be put aside for seasoning and finishing at a later date. We would recommend a minimum power requirement of 1hp for using this system. N.B. You will need to choose the correct diameter tool post to suit your lathe from those listed (sold separately).
