Achieve consistently sharp, accurate cutting edges with the Sharp Edge sharpening system. Compact, lightweight and quick to set up, it's an easy-to-use solution for sharpening chisels, plane irons, spokeshave blades and other straight-edged woodworking tools.
The unique angle adjustment allows you to sharpen at any angle from 23° to 90°, accommodating blades from 3mm to 85mm wide. Once set, the guide maintains the exact sharpening angle every time, ensuring a perfectly square edge across the full width of the blade for precise, repeatable results.
Common sharpening angles are clearly marked for fast, accurate setup, while blade spacers centre narrow blades for improved stability. Simply loosen the adjustment knob, set the required angle and lock it into position. Strong magnets securely hold the selected diamond hone in place, making changing grits quick and effortless.
Sharpening is fast and straightforward. Narrow chisels can be positioned against the blade spacer, while wider plane irons are supported on either shoulder of the guide. The included backing off tool is the same height as the Sharp Edge, providing additional support for larger blades and allowing you to remove the final burr using the extra-fine diamond hone.
The base features pre-drilled fixing holes for permanent bench mounting if required, while the compact design makes it equally suitable for portable use. To keep the diamond hones performing at their best, simply clean them with a good pencil eraser.
