For removing the corners of square stock and for initial rough shaping. Made in Sheffield, in the UK, the 3/4" (19mm) Roughing Gouge features a hardened M2 HSS steel blade, which maintains a sharp edge far longer than cheaper carbon steel. Comes correctly ground and ready sharpened. The blade is fitted to a smooth, well-shaped 8 1/2" (216mm) beechwood handle for comfort. Suitable for the amateur or beginner woodturner.
This Roughing Out Gouge has a 8 1/2" handle. The length of the steel is 5".

As a British retailer we're proud to support British design and manufacturing.
