Every time you remove your lathe’s toolrest in order to sand or finish a workpiece presents you with a problem. Returning the tool rest to your preferred working height is somewhat hit and miss, involving guesswork.

Based on an original idea from the Blind Woodturner, once secured to the rest’s toolpost, these collars act as a stop ensuring the toolrest always returns to the same height. The split collar design ensures there is no danger of damage or burring of the tool post. The collars are useful for alternative tool rests or bowl rests requiring different height settings. Fitting one of these collars means you never need to worry about adjusting working heights and can get on with making shavings.

Available in a range bore sizes to suit the most common tool post diameters.
