Always said to be the most difficult tool to master but, once mastered, the most versatile. Used for planing cuts, vee cuts, beads and any convex, cylindrical or conical forms and also for cleaning end grain. Rounded edge skews are a hybrid type, with the corners along the length of the blade rounded and smooth, which allow the tool to slide along the toolrest, whislt retaining the mass and stability of the traditional skew. The cutting edge of these tools has a slight radius.
