This versatile, durable, all purpose abrasive is perfect for sharpening hand tools, as it produces very sharp edges. It has high tear resistance and features an adaptable, flexible and waterproof latex paper underlay. Simply peel off the backing and attach the abrasive to a known flat surface, such as a piece of float glass, or granite surface plate and use a honing guide to achieve excellent results.The silicon carbide resin bonded abrasive can be lubricated either with oil or water and is also great for flattening the soles of bench planes. Additionally, it makes a useful non-slip surface for jig making and sharpening carving tools; simply wrap around a profiled block of timber and you will achieve a perfect edge on those too.
