A book for those that appreciative the simple beauty of Japanese woodwork and want to create simple practical furniture for the home.

More than half a century later the Tokyo based team of woodcraft experts have breathed new life into the designs and show off their enduring appeal for modern homes. Focusing on wooden furniture, it introduces 24 stylish furniture pieces along with step-by-step photographs, drawings and instructions.
Projects include:

Side table and book case
Variable-height table
Box-shaped bench
Open-back shoe rack
The project team group monomono was formed in 1970 by Yoshio Akioka, a central figure of the KAK design group. They are based in Tokyo and have been leaders in the revival of woodworking and other handicrafts in Japan.
