Hampshire Sheen’s Citrus Burnishing Oil is a fresh-smelling food and toy-safe finish fully compliant with BS EN 71-3:2019. It forms a durable satin finish for children’s wooden toys, turned salad bowls and platters, wooden chopping boards, salad servers, spoons and spatulas. Citrus Burnishing Oil has a minimal darkening or yellowing effect to the timber’s natural colour, at the same time subtly enhancing the grain.

Like all oil finishes it penetrates into the timber forming a finish that is more than a simple surface coating. Hampshire Sheen is a durable moisture resistant neutral finish. It has the aroma of citrus fruits, which dissipates as the solvent dries. Your chosen piece is suitable for use when the aroma has completely gone.

This oil is easily applied using a brush or paper towel; allow it to penetrate the wood for a minute or two then remove any excess. Use a paper towel to burnish the oil dry. Further coats offer greater water and oil-resistance. Citrus Burnishing Oil can be overcoated with food safe wax if wished.
