Robust Comfort Tool Rests; an apt description if ever there was one. Each tool rest features a round, hardened steel bar welded to the top edge. This bar will not dent or nick and tools will continue to glide smoothly even after years of turning. In addition, being solid steel, rather than cast iron these rests certainly deserve the name Robust.
The curvature, angle and height of the rest combine to form the Comfort part on the name. Your hand fits comfortably in the radius of the rest, whether you use an overhand or underhand grip. You can get the rest close to the action for maximum tool support whether below or above centre height. Finally, it allows you to lower the tool’s handle for shear scraping and skew cutting action.
The 1" stem tool rests are compatible with the following Axminster lathes, Craft AC355WL, Trade AT350WL and AT406WL. The 30mm stem tool rests are compatible with the Axminster Trade AT508WL lathe.
