True Grit Abrasive Pastes are woodturner’s finishing products made completely of natural and ethically sourced ingredients, all the way to the tub and labels! Made in Yorkshire, True Grit products are a blend of waxes and oils along with a very fine abrasive. It offers woodturner’s several benefits. Not least bringing a fine polish to your latest piece of turnery, either as the final finish or the penultimate prior to your chosen final wax finish.
Their Superfine Abrasive Wax Paste is specifically developed with resin and hybrid users in mind. It works like the True Grit original wax but it’s finer abrasives greatly reduce scratches left by their initial sanding process and designed to take your work piece from 1000 Grit upwards.
We recommend sanding to 240 grit, applying our original True Grit Abrasive Wax Paste before then applying True Grit Superfine as a final sanding step; this will all work together to give a super smooth and reflective surface.
As well as a final finish True Grit is highly effective when used to denib, buff and enhance a lacquer finish bringing your finished item up to a near mirror gloss.
True Grit waxes also work to eliminate and capture any incredibly fine dust which is created from the micromesh pads and high grit sandpaper. This added benefit helps to protect lungs from microplastics and reduces the risk of health issues.
