Sharpen all your edge tools
Ideal for sharpening chisels, knives, scissors, and smaller tools such as woodturning and carving tools. Even complicated shapes such as fingernail turning gouges, spoon carving gouges and oval skew chisels with a radiused edge are easily sharpened with this user-friendly machine.

Longer tool life
The Tormek wet-grinding method leaves a polished, burr-free edge without overheating the tool. The water acts as a coolant, meaning the temper of the steel is not affected whilst you sharpen, which significantly extends the life of your tools.
Fast and safe
Worn steel particles, produced when shaping, are washed into the water trough. This means only a fraction of steel is removed, which makes it a quick job. It also means the air is kept clear of grinding dust and no potentially hazardous sparks are produced.
Quality and performance
Powder-coated zinc top houses vital functions like the motor, main shaft and sleeves for the universal support mounts. This design forms a strong foundation which guarantees minimal play and provides the stability needed for precise shaping, sharpening and honing.
Exact replication
Patented universal support mounts (bars), which guide all jigs and accessories, can be mounted either horizontally or vertically providing the ideal set up for any tool or user. The mounts are held in two strong, steel sleeves and the secure locking design allows for tighter tolerances. Providing, even a beginner, the control needed for repeatable results.

Powerful, maintenance-free, industrial motor (AC) ensures minimal speed loss even under heavy load. At the low speed, you have full control of the sharpening and remove no more steel than is necessary - making your tools last longer.

The micro-adjust feature, with acme thread and scale, together with the AngleMaster means it's easy to precisely set your edge angles for repeatedly consistent results.
Efficient and versatile
SG-200 Original Grindstone has been developed to combine efficient steel removal, smooth surface finish and have a longer life. By using the SP-650 Stone Grader you can alternate the surface of the grinding wheel from a 220g coarse cut to a 1,000g fine.
Cleanest edges
The sharpening process is finished by honing and polishing the edge on the leather wheel. The equivalent of 2,500-3,000g can be achieved. This leaves your tools with a razor-sharp edge so you're ready to produce your best work.

The Tormek T-4 incorporates, innovative, patented features that allows you to sharpen your tools to the finest edge. Firstly, the zinc cast top incorporates the key components of the main shaft, Universal Support and motor assembly resulting in superb accuracy as standard. Secondly, the Universal Support is held in two sleeves in the zinc cast top, meaning that the improved locking design and tighter tolerances will give even better results. Both designs give improved accuracy and precision for easy sharpening on the Tormek T-4.
The T-4 model is an incarnation within a long line of Tormek water-cooled grinding systems. In common with its larger sibling, the T-8, it is ideal for sharpening cabinetmaking hand tools, knives, scissors and woodcarving and turning tools. Like the larger machine models, the Tormek T-4 Original comes equipped with Tormek's Original Grindstone. It comes supplied with two useful accessories, the first of which is the SP-650 Stone Grader that can be used to keep the stone cutting efficiently as well as changing the surface from a (220g) coarse cut to (1,000g) fine. The equivalent of 2,500-3,000g can be achieved on the leather wheel. The second is the AngleMaster, an adjustable device used to set the correct angle for grinding plane and chisel blades. Magnets on the reverse side of the AngleMaster mean that it is easy to store it conveniently on the steel machine plate.
This is the first machine for some time to be supplied without a jig, so for instant sharpening, a jig of choice needs to be purchased from the many available, all of which will fit the Tormek T-4.
Also supplied is the unique Tormek Handbook, where all the information that is required to shape, sharpen and hone your tools to perfection can be found. The T-4 uses a powerful, industrial AC motor and the shaft supporting the wheels is made from corrosion resistant stainless steel. The 200mm(8") diameter stone has the Tormek EzyLock mounting system for fast stone changes without a spanner. Supplied with the SP-650 Stone Grader and SG-200 Original Grindstone with adjustable sharpening properties.
