This centre steady fits both the Axminster Trade lathes AT406WL and AT350WL and Axminster Professional lathes AP406WL and AP350WL. A centre steady offers extra support to longer, thinner turnings between centres. It is invaluable when turning things like stair spindles. A centre steady prevents the workpiece from flexing and reduces vibration.
The workpiece is supported by three 41mm diameter bearings. The centre steady will support turnings from 10mm diameter to 109mm diameter. The centre height is adjustable, with four options, 177.8mm (7"), 203.2mm (8"), 215mm (8.1/2"), and 228.6 (9").
