Crafting Connections | The Power of Community in Woodworking
Step into any workshop and you’ll notice it straight away. There are tools, benches and the comforting scent of freshly cut timber, but look closer and you’ll find something more. Shared advice, borrowed techniques and stories passed from one maker to the next. Woodworking has never been a solitary craft. It thrives on community and that belief sits firmly at the heart of what we do.
A heritage craft
For decades, we’ve built relationships with makers at every stage of their journey, from first-time DIYers to seasoned professionals. Along the way, we’ve met remarkable individuals giving their time, skills and passion to keep traditional crafts alive and accessible.
By championing these people and their stories, we aim to inspire others to pick up tools, learn new skills and experience the benefits that creativity can bring, not just to individuals, but to society as a whole.
Our partners
Community impact is strongest when it’s collaborative. We’re proud to work alongside organisations dedicated to education, welfare and craft excellence - from industry charities supporting furniture makers in times of need, to foundations nurturing woodland skills and sustainable craftsmanship.

Workshops without walls
Our growing online networks, forums, social platforms and broadcasts, connect makers across regions and experience levels. Here, questions are answered, projects are shared and inspiration flows freely.
From joinery questions to first-lathe decisions and project showcases, our Community Forum, alongside Facebook, Instagram and YouTube is filled with makers ready to help.
Building more than projects
At its core, woodworking is about making, but it's more than that. By supporting communities, nurturing skills and celebrating those who give back, we help ensure the craft remains vibrant, inclusive and forward-looking. And that’s something worth building, together.
