Is epoxy resin food safe? Will it ever leach?
Hi Alex, apologies for the delayed reply. Regretfully we cannot claim that EcoPoxy is food safe. EcoPoxy themselves advise that when the resin is mixed at the correct ratio and fully cured it has few unreacted components, but some non-reacted components can always be extracted. None of the unreactive components are acutely toxic but the resins have not been tested. I hope this helps.
Is this epoxy suitable for wood turning?
Hi Denis, yes EcoPoxy is suitable for woodturning. Our resident Woodturners use the epoxy for a variety of woodturning projects. Many thanks.
Is this safe for kids to use?
Hi Desirae, Thank you for getting in touch. The manufacturer says that once cured the resin is child safe. However, we would recommend against letting children use the resin in craft projects, as it could be harmful, particularly if ingested. Please contact the manufacturer directly for further advice with this regard. Regards, Lisa
So you mention the ecopoxy is 100% plant based. Is that all the range including the colours too?
Hi Mary, thank you for getting in touch. We have been advised by EcoPoxy that the colours and pigments are made using Mica powder, which is made from a natural rock. For any further advice on this we would advise you contact the manufacturer directly. Hope this helps. Regards, Lisa
Hi would this epoxy work to refinish a clawfoot tub?
Is EcoPoxy safe to cut with a co2 laser after it has cured?
I am working on a carving project at the moment and the wood I've chosen is one of the hardest woods I know to work with, Pacific Madrone. My question is, does exopoxy offer a product that would work to provide a top coat and simultaneously fill the many, and some fairly large, cracks that have appeared as the wood has dried? Also, if such a product is available could someone provide a few pointers on how to go about applying the resin? My end goal is to hopefully fill the cracks with a tinted resin and then top coat the entirety of the piece for long lasting protection.
I am highly allergic to resin. I have tried sooo many and still had a reaction. Would your product be safe for me to try
Hi, would you be able to advise me.. I am making cosplay masks and wondered if this ecopoxy would be safe to wear on the face. I don’t want it to be toxic or have a strong smell.
Thank you
Hi Laura, EcoPoxy have stated its products are non-toxic and many use them for jewelry that they are wearing all day. EcoPoxy say If the project is done according to application instructions, there should be no odor. And they would recommend washing the mask before wearing it, in case there is any unmixed raw part A or B on the surface. I hope this helps. Lisa
Is this suitable for using in epoxy resin molds (e.g. silicone molds for crafting)?
Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your question. Yes, EcoPoxy is safe to use in epoxy resin molds as you suggest. Hope this helps. Lisa
Can you use this product in a pressure pot?
Hi, is it biodegradable?
We build E Bikes and Scooters out of laminated wood and use normal epoxy as the glue between the 3 to 4 mm wood strips. How strong is ecopoxy as glue ?
