The Axminster Edge E20G 200mm Wide Bench Grinder is a versatile bench grinder for sharpening and general grinding. It's excellent for home workshops, small professional workshops and woodturners who are seeking to sharpen various turning or hand tools regularly.
The 370W motor powers the two white 200mm aluminium oxide grinding wheels: a 25mm wide 60 grit wheel on one side and a 40mm wide 80 grit wheel on the other. The 25mm wheel is ideal for general grinding and reshaping of metal, while the wider 40mm wheel is designed for sharpening and honing the edges of woodturning tools and other workshop tools. White aluminium oxide stones have a lesser tendency to overheat and chisel or blade, however a light touch when sharpening is always best.
The E20G Wide Bench Grinder has strong tool rests, which can be angled and locked in position for stability and accuracy. Spark guards and eye shields help keep you protected from sparks and debris. A magnifying lens is included on the right hand eye shield for detailed work. The machine is mounted on rubber feet to reduce vibration and noise, enhancing comfort. A pull-out drawer is available at the base of the grinder and can be used as a water trough; useful for when keeping the edge cool is important.
Note: When a grinder is new or when changing stones, it is important to dress the stones to ensure the front face runs true. The grinder is supplied with a diamond dresser.
