This is an 8mm shank cutter produced for use with the UJK Universal Dovetail jig. It is the 12.5mm diameter straight cutter, used for comb jointing with the jig.
Twin flute straight cutters are by far the most commonly used router cutter. With two parallel cutting edges, they produce an excellent clean finish. They have many uses cutting grooves, rebates, housings or dadoes etc. Twin flute straight cutters are also a good choice for shallow mortices, such as hinge recesses. When selecting cutters always choose the shortest cutter that will give the depth you require. Shorter bits minimise vibration, cut cleaner and give a longer tool life.
Axcaliber router cutters are high precision tooling, made using advanced technology on multi axis CNC machines. A high shear-cut angle gives them a smooth cutting action and results in a clean finish. The tips are diamond-ground micrograin tungsten carbide. PTFE coating minimises resin build-up.
