At the heart of DeWALT’s DCP580, cordless planer is a powerful brushless motor. The advantages include significantly enhanced performance, longer run times and much improved tool life. Supplied without batteries, this planer is compatible with either, DeWALT 4.0Ah Li-Ion or 5.0Ah XR Li-Ion batteries. The DCP580 is capable of removing 2mm in a single pass. The depth of cut adjustment gives you indexed control in 0.1mm increments. The maximum rebate depth is 9mm. The whole machine has good balance; this along with the soft grip handle makes using the DCP580 very controllable and comfortable. The right-handed dust port takes an optional dust bag or connects to a vacuum extractor. The body features on-board storage for spare blades and the necessary Torx key for changing them. It takes standard 82mm double-sided TC blades.
