The auger file’s shape and configuration make it equally effective on forstner and sawtooth bits. Auger bits require sharpening on the cutting spur and the main cutting edge, both of which are tricky to get at. This single cut file solves the problem. It tapers in length from 12mm to 3mm, allowing easy access into narrow spaces over a range of sizes.
The file has teeth on one side and on one edge only. The smooth side and edge are ‘safe’, you can work right into a corner without fear of damaging an adjacent face. An auger bit file can be used to sharpen brad point drills and flat bits and is good for many other delicate filing tasks.
The end opposite the file is smoothed for a comfortable grip.
Overall length is 175mm, single cut tapering from 12mm to 3mm. Hardness 62 HRC.
