One of the standout features is the 1-step soft grip cam handle that allows for quick and easy belt changes, saving you time and effort. The self-ejecting tailstock with long quill travel enhances the diversity and usability of your woodturning tasks. Additionally, the lathe offers forward and reverse rotation, giving you versatility in your turning operations. The machine will also take an accessory ASR locking ring that will give greater safety by locking the chuck and spindle together.
The lathe's speed is monitored and automatically adjusted to maintain a constant speed, thanks to the pulse width modulation system (PWM). This system delivers a series of voltage pulses to the motor, continuously monitoring and adjusting the speed to maintain a constant rate. This ensures an impressive level of torque, even at the remarkably low speed of 50rpm, resulting in an optimal performance at all times.
The digital speed readout allows you to monitor the speed accurately. The anodized aluminium plate features ergonomically positioned controls, and the tactile, rubber-augmented knurled aluminium dial provides smooth and enjoyable variable speed control. The projected nose cone improves stability by enhancing access to the workpiece and providing wider bearing spacing. This design helps to reduce vibrations and ensures a more stable and precise operation, especially during delicate tasks.
For precise positioning, the 24-position spindle indexing is a valuable feature, enabling detailed work and repetitive tasks. The spring-loaded spindle lock ensures secure locking for safe and accurate operations. The soft-grip cam action levers provide comfortable and secure handling during adjustments, while the hardened steel leading edge tool rest offers durable support for your turning tools.
